Kumba began in the Bay area in 2018.  The service model for the company was built around the vision of a dining industry moving toward integration with the blossoming cashless economy, and the observation that dining experiences throughout multiple segments are presently impaired by unnecessary wait times and unfulfilled customer service potential. 

With the outbreak of COVID-19, the company has pivoted focus toward being an application that could allow both successful and floundering dining establishments to regain footing in the post-COVID world by reducing the levels of required staff on duty and by reducing the level of required physical interaction between staff and guests.
